This privacy statement informs you about the type, extent, and purpose of personal data collection and use within the mobile app "Splitter".

With respect to the definitions of "processing" or "controller", we refer to Article 4 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/DSGVO).

The app collects and processes the following information:

• Group Information

  Group title, creation date, member names, and currency settings.

• Expense Data

  Expense title, amount, split ratio, participants, and date.

• Local Settings

  Your identity within groups and app preferences (stored only on device).

Local settings are stored on your device. Expense and group information is stored on our Firebase database to enable the core functionality of sharing expenses with others who have the group code.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties. The app's functionality provides access to group data for anyone who has the group code.

The app provides a button in the "Group Settings" menu to delete all group data from our servers. We only retain the abstract group code to inform other members that the group was deleted.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/DSGVO), you have the following rights:

  Request information about your stored personal data (Art. 15)

• Right to Rectification

  Request correction of inaccurate personal data (Art. 16)

• Right to Erasure

  Request deletion of your personal data (Art. 17)

  Receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20)

• Right to Object

  Object to processing of your personal data (Art. 21)

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe your data is being processed unlawfully.
