Data Visions and this website is the home for many of my official and experimental projects.
The works shown here are all personal "hobby" developments. Professionally, I earn my living as a Data Scientist at Roche. As this job and my family keep me rather involved, my time on private projects is currently a bit limited. Nevertheless, I still enjoy it and will continue some personal coding and software development here.
My Background
Starting as a Statistician, the computational aspects of this field quickly sparked my general interest in coding. Machine learning was the optimal combination of maths and coding for me. As an early hobby, I also started to make android apps. Originally, this was to have a practical application of the very theoretical Java intro class in my bachelors. However, it also turned out to be the "gateway drug" into a deep rabbit hole of programming & coding. And after 10 years down that hole, this is where I am today.

Development of cost-sensitive feature selection algorithms by extending standard methods like genetic algorithms, SFS or filters. Developed a novel approach based on random forests.
